Associate Program in HRD & OD
Preparing
Managers as Researchers, Trainers and Change Agents
for building Learning Organizations.
Strategic decisions in learning organizations can no
longer be based just on hunches or gut feelings but
require scientific analysis of the data that organizations
generate. HRD Department in an organization has access
to valuable data pertaining to people and performance
that could be of significant assistance in formulating
effective strategies for corporate plans including
diversification and expansion plans. Organizational
data, if systematically analyzed, can aid in
facilitating the process of mergers and acquisitions,
restructuring, downsizing, reengineering
and
managing the change process in the organization. In
addition to this, HRD departments are frequently required
to conduct research and carry out process analysis and
audit to validate and evaluate effectiveness of HRD
policies, systems and interventions. Continuous research
on various aspects of organizational and HRD processes
is a well recognized need for discovering and strengthening
an organization’s core competencies, so as to gain competitive
advantages. In learning organizations, every manager
needs to be essentially a researcher, an analyst and
a change agent for constantly improving and realigning
organizational and human processes in the face of constantly
changing business environment and technologies. Most
organizations in Indian corporate sector have to heavily
depend on external assistance for meeting their research-related
needs. This is considered a major roadblock in actualizing
the benefits of learning organizations.
In
response to this need of Indian organizations, the Academy
of Human Resources Development has designed the Associate
Program in HRD, a fifteen month Program, for preparing
HRD Professionals for the role of researcher, analyst
and facilitators of change management processes in an organization.
This course will seek to increase the participants’
awareness in all areas of HRD and a special emphasis
will be laid on the area of Organizational Structure
and Dynamics, Applied Behavioral Science, HRD Interventions,
Organizational Development, Research Methods and Techniques,
Statistical Tools and Macro Perspectives on HRD.
On successful completion of the course, candidates will
be awarded the title of ‘Associate, Academy of HRD’.
This 15-month program has been designed to prepare Managers/professionals
as Researcher, Analysts and Facilitators of Change Management
as well as prepare them to take up doctoral work in future.
The students will be facilitated, guided and mentored
in their academic pursuits by a panel of highly distinguished
academicians and practitioners, which constitute our
Academic Council, Council of Guides and Visiting Faculty.
A select number of Full-Time students are also
admitted who apart from pursuing their academic goals,
assist the Academy in its activities and are provided
financial assistance.
